SEGA CORPORATION is excited to announce that it will be releasing the new 2D high-speed video game Sonic Origins, a complete remaster of the original four games that kicked off the Sonic series itself, on June 23, 2022 for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, as well as via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

■Sonic Origins releases on June 23, 2022!

The 2D high-speed video game Sonic Origins will be released on Sonic's birthday, June 23, 2022. The game contains digitally remastered versions of the Sonic series’ true “origins”, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic CD, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One as well as via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Get ready for a high-velocity gaming experience that gives you the best of both worlds: classic 16-bit graphics and gameplay enhanced by modern gaming technology!　Sonic Origins has been powered up thanks to a whole host of new features, including brand new game modes and features such as Anniversary Mode, Mission Mode, Museum and so much more. Classic Mode also lets you relive the original adventure by offering all the classic features. Get ready to enjoy the kind of fast paced action only the Sonic games can offer now!

■Brand-new game modes double the fun!

Anniversary Mode

In Anniversary Mode, not only can you enjoy the game on a larger 16:9 screen, but as the ‘Time Over’ and ‘Continue’ functions are disabled, you can now also play at your own pace without having to worry about the fun coming to an abrupt end.

Classic Mode

In Classic Mode, you can play using the original stage designs and rules. If you make a mistake, you will lose a life, so be careful not to use them all up or it’ll be Game Over!

• *If you have at least one ‘Continue’ left, you can start again with 3 more lives.

Boss Rush

In Boss Rush mode, you can fight all the bosses from each game back-to-back!

Mirror Mode

Once you have cleared either Anniversary Mode, Classic Mode, or Story Mode, Mirror Mode will be unlocked so you can challenge yourself by completing each stage in reverse!

In the Museum, you can gain access to all kinds of never-before-seen content, such as precious game materials from when the original games were first developed. The game has two types of collections: the Normal Collection, which unlocks automatically as you progress through the game, and the Premium Collection, which unlocks using the coins you obtain from Boss Rush and Mission Mode stages.

My Data & Ranking

Through the My Data and Ranking features, you can check your personal best ‘Clear Times’ for each act, as well as the world rankings showing times from players from across the globe. Race through each act so you reach the top!
